A nest of textured Silver wires encase the Campo de Ceilo meteorite stone and is accented by a dark patina which creates an industrial feel to this ring. It is simply "Out of this World!"
The name Campo del Cielo comes from the location in Argentina that the meteorite was found. The native tongue means Field of the Sky or Heaven, it is believed that the local people named the place after the fallen meteorite. Though it fell to Earth more than 4000 years ago, this Meteorite was discovered in 1576 by a Spanish military expedition. Searching for a source of iron known to the natives of what is now Chaco province, Northern Argentina, the soldiers brought back samples from what they thought was an iron mine.
