Pallasites are stony-iron meteorites derived from an extinct planet that was detroyed during the formation of our solar system (approximately 4.5 billion years ago). They come from the boundary between the silica rich mantle and the iron-nickel core of the planet and were torn away from the planet by a catastrophic impact with another planet or asteroid. Pallasites are composed of a network of nickel-iron metal in which are set crystals of the silicate mineral olivine also known as peridot  

The meteorite itself has a protective resin on it.  A simple Sterling Silver bezel around the meteorite creates a simple distinctive look. This Meteorite is considered to be a prized possession. An amazing piece to wear!!
