Royston Turquoise comes from the Royston mining district located near Tonopah, Nevada and has been mined since the early 1900s. "Royston Turquoise" originally consisted of four old Turquoise claims located within the Royston range. The Royston area mines produces some incredible turquoise ranging in color from a deep sky blue to dark greens. Often the colors run together in the same stone with golden brown mottled or webbed matrix. The mines currently produce some very high grade material, but in limited quantities.
Turquoise is said to encourage enthusiasm, thus inspiring new projects and bringing to light undiscovered artistic abilities.
The name garnet derives from the Latin word for grain due to the similarity between their rounded crystals and a pomegranate's seeds. Garnet is the official birthstone for January and signifies protection, friendship, trust, commitment, and love. Garnet is also said to keep the wearer safe during travel. Garnets are commonly believed to aid in the healing of broken bonds of love.
