Tabu Jasper has also been nicknamed Forest Fire Jasper because of its coloration. It is a brecciated jasper from Africa with it's main feature being its bright brick to crimson reds, lighter reddish tans and black. This fabulous fancy cut pendant is bold and eye-catching! While the Tabu Jasper stone is bezel set in a simple Sterling Silver setting, the unique free form shape and spectacular earth tone mosaic says it all with this pendant. If you like different, this is it. It should be noted that this stone has become scarcer with each passing year.
Jasper was worn by shaman to bring protection, holding an aspect of solar energy and a connection to the solar plexus chakra which helped Shaman in their practices. Jasper with red color is said to aid with physical travel whereas it is a stone of protection. It is known to protect against negativity and aid in the grounding to the stabilizing energies of the earth. For Native American Indians it is a sacred stone that is used for performances of and adherence to the "old ways" rituals.
